Save the date printing, done in the studio

Every save the date is printed and finished by hand in the studio in Horsham, West Sussex, not sent off to a large print house. Your names, wedding date and location are set into the design, and a digital proof is sent before anything is printed, so you can check every detail before your cards are made.

The designs

Custom-cut save the dates

The pearlescent shell isn’t a printed rectangle: each card is cut to its shell outline in the studio, so your guests open an envelope and find a shape they can hold. If you’d like a different shape for your wedding, describe it in an enquiry and it can be quoted as a bespoke commission.

Personalised or fully bespoke

Every design is personalised with your names, date and venue, and the wording can be changed to suit you. For bespoke save the date cards, send a note with your date, colours and ideas. Bespoke cards can be printed on 290gsm pearlescent card, hammered card, linen texture, 250gsm white card or semi-gloss photo paper, and are quoted individually once the design, paper and quantity are agreed.

Prices and samples

Order a single sample card from £3.50 to see the print and paper in your hands, then order for your full guest list. Printed rustic floral save the dates start from £18 for 10 cards, and the price per card falls as quantities go up. Website orders show delivery in your basket before you pay, and printed Etsy orders come with free UK delivery.

When to send save the dates

Save the dates are usually sent six to twelve months before the wedding, or earlier for bank holiday weekends, busy summer dates and weddings that involve travel, so guests can book time off. Your full invitation follows later with all the details. Enter your date in the free stationery timeline planner to see your own dates.

Posting your save the dates

A save the date in a standard envelope usually goes as a Royal Mail letter with an ordinary first or second class stamp. Shaped cards, wax seals or extra layers can make an envelope thicker or heavier, so take one to the Post Office to check the postage before buying stamps for every guest.

Match them to your invitations

Save the dates set the tone for everything that follows. Carry the same feel through your wedding invitations and on to the day with menus, place cards and table numbers.

Can the wording be changed?

Yes. Your names, date and location are personalised, and you’ll see a digital proof before anything is printed.

When should I send save the dates?

Usually six to twelve months before the wedding, and earlier for bank holidays, peak summer dates or weddings that involve travel.

What stamps do save the dates need?
